Whether its the time-tested mid-summer exhibition or the October grand finale, the All-Star Game and World Series are labeled "Classics" for good reason, as stellar play is required to advance and proper credentials are necessary for on-site viewing! Here are some of the latter in the form of coveted press pins. With posts and nuts intact throughout (with variations noted), the accessories include:

World Series Press Pins:

1967: Boston Red Sox

1970: California Angels (phantom pin, Angels were as close as within three games on September 4 before a 5-17 slump dashed their hopes)

1971: Pittsburgh Pirates

1972: Cincinnati Reds

1975: Boston Red Sox

1976: New York Yankees (proudly proclaiming "It's Our Thirtieth!")

1978: Cincinnati Reds (phantom, as Reds finished 2.5 games behind the Dodgers)

1979: California Angels (phantom pin as Halos were felled by Baltimore in ALCS)

1979: Pittsburgh Pirates (charm attached to hanger with threaded post)

1982: St. Louis Cardinals

1983: Chicago White Sox (phantom pin as ChiSox lost to Baltimore in ALCS)

1984: Detroit Tigers

1984: San Diego Padres

1985: St. Louis Cardinals (charm)

(additionally, there is an Atlanta Braves pin, likely a phantom, from an unknown year, as well as a Baltimore Orioles 1971 Tour of Japan pin)

All-Star Game Press Pins:

1972: Atlanta Stadium (charm)

1979: Seattle Kingdome

(2) 1984: Candlestick Park (one press pin, one charm)

Hall of Fame Induction Day Pins:

1982: Aaron, Chandler, T. Jackson and F. Robinson

1983: Alston, Kell, Marichal and B. Robinson

(2) 1984: Aparicio, Drysdale, Ferrell, Killebrew and Reese

1990: inaugural class replica pin with Cobb, W. Johnson, Mathewson, Ruth and Wagner
